Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.

 Ruben Fleischer

Initial Thoughts:

I saw the first movie in theaters and had a lot of fun with it. My wife saw the second one without me (girls night believe it or not!), so when this showed up on Amazon (and it was a rainy day) I decided to watch it.

Main Points:

The movie starts out with some good action and nice special effects. I like the characters and everyone does a reasonable job acting (though Stone looks bored for a lot of it). The story is not so good. This movie is a clear example of a largely unnecessary sequel. Sure they throw in some new characters, new types of zombies, and go to new places but most of the time it just doesn't work and tries too hard to recapture the fun of the last movie. I did like Rosario Dawson and Luke Wilson's characters, they certainly seemed to be having fun with the roles.

Some of the best moments come right at the end, stick around for 2 bonus scenes, 1 mid-credits, and once post-credits with the always funny Bill Murray.

Final Thoughts:

If you're bored and have an Amazon Prime account, maybe give this a watch. There are fun action scenes and a couple of creative zombie deaths. I can only give is 6 out of 10. Please don't let your kids watch this, due to extreme violence, gore, language, and sexual situations I would say ages 17+.
