Movie Review: The Hitman's Bodyguard

Details from IMDB:

The Hitman's Bodyguard

One of the world's top bodyguards gets a new client, a world class hitman who must testify at the International Criminal Court. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial alive and on time.

Initial Thoughts:

I admire a director/writer/producer who has a clear idea for a movie and then makes it happen. This is what you get here an action/comedy and it works pretty well, plus Reynolds and Sam Jackson are FUNNY, so it was a great idea to put them together.

Main Points:

I was smiling within the first ten minutes of this movie and I just kept going, fun! I should add at this point that I forgot how much Salma Hayek can be on screen, she's quite good and funny here.

Reynolds is always hilarious and just letting Sam Jackon loose with as many motherfuckers as he wants? Brillant! (Yeah I said it, my blog and I'm done pulling punches).

While there is a plot, really it doesn't matter much. Reynolds and Sam Jackson just get to make you laugh, beat people up, kill people, blow stuff up and smash up cars, it's just a lot of fun! There is even a plot twist (a small one but still good) that I didn't see coming (of course I was high when I watched this, so you may figure it out).

Final Thoughts:

It's nice being slow to the game sometimes, with this watched I know there's a sequel we can watch sometime soon. In the meantime despite my praise, this is not a great movie, it's fun, and I laughed throughout so I give it 7 out of 10. If you're looking for an adult/action/comedy that does what it's supposed to, I would highly recommend it. No kids, of course, ages 16+.
