I enjoyed Legos as a kid. I put together some of the complicated sets (though I also remember leaving some unfinished), like a lot of kids there were a great way to use your imagination. I've enjoyed the Lego movies and when this one came out we took our niece to see it opening weekend.
As usual I'm not going through the plot. While this film isn't as good as the first one, it's certainly still good fun and clever film making. Good voice work from all those involved and a couple of live action performances (as per the 1st movie) that were funny and well timed.
Loads of Easter eggs for adults to look for (and kids too) and a good few laughs throughout. Will Arnett continues to impress me as the voice of Batman (I do dearly love Batman), also keep an eye out for some funny cameos as well.
Its the movie that reminds you of your childhood while at the same time bringing in the positive message of the importance of family and of course using your imagination.
I enjoyed this movie but it just couldn't quite reach the same heights as the first one (sequels almost never do). A film with good heart, good laughs, a nice story and will leave you in a good mood leaving the theater. A nice movie to bring your kids to, my niece is 8 and she enjoyed it. So a solid 7.5 from me and a hearty recommendation from me. I'm certainly in for at least one movie from this creative saga.
