Initial Thoughts:

I haven't' been a wrestling fan in a long time, I'd say over 30 years. I am, however, a fan of Stephen Merchant. I've seen him in lots of movies and have been watching him since he was on "Extras" with Ricky Gervais. That and it got some good reviews, so we went.

Main Points:

This is one of those inspirational based on a true story kind of deals, which have been done plenty but this one is really funny and has a lot of heart. All the acting is really good (watch for Stephen in a cameo role), the story flows well and while it's a little predictable still good to watch.

I wasn't aware of this family in England who loves wrestling (literally the whole family wrestles together) and it's always nice to see someone pursue their dreams (and achieve them, it's a true story so I don't care about spoilers).

Final Thoughts:

A big recommendation from me. Funny, touching, good story, well acted, Merchant is off to a strong start with his writing and directing debut. It's also really nice to see Lena Hedey play a likable character for a change, this role is so different from Cersei (Game of Thrones) that it reminds me of how excellent she is. A solid 8 out of 10, if you're looking for a nice, feel-good movie with some good laughs, check it out. Due to some coarse language and suggested sexual stuff ages 14+.
