Initial Thoughts:

I had seen this advertised on Netflix. My wife likes military movies (I do too) and it certainly has some good actors in it, so we gave it a watch.

Main Points:

Netflix has certainly upped their game in the past few years. They now have an Oscar-winning movie (3 Oscars in fact) and have certainly changed the movie/TV industry forever. Streaming services are here to stay and I think it's a good thing. But enough of me chatting.

So while the cast all put in decent performances here, there's just not much to this movie. Yes, there is one twist (which really doesn't matter) and two surprises towards the end (which I didn't see coming) but ultimately is very predictable and simple. That's not always a bad thing but for this movie, it could have been a lot better.

Top notch action, lovely scenery, ok soundtrack and likable characters still make it a pleasant enough experience. I just found myself getting a little bored at the hour and a half mark. It's not that there's anything bad, it's just the whole movie is very mediocre.

Final Thoughts:

I give this 6.5 out of 10 and only a mild recommendation. There is violence and blood, so ages 17+. It at least did make me wonder what a Triple Frontier is (it's a piece of land near 3 countries) and made me see that Ben Affleck can still put in a good performance, given the right role. If you're looking for something to pass the time on Netflix, then you certainly could do worse than this.
