Initial Thoughts:

Keanu for me is an interesting actor (and a great guy, I know about the hardship he's been through and the great things he does). I've watched him for a long time (who didn't see Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure?) and then he didn't do much that I saw until The Matrix. Which again everyone saw (well 1 and 2, 3 was crap) and then I once again didn't see him in much, until John Wick. I'm very late to the game. I know 3 is already out and it took until I was home by myself for a few days to watch this and I'm (mostly) glad I did.

Main Points:

Whew! A long intro that time, I'll get more to the point. I really won't summarize the plot because there's not much too it. Basically you're just watching Keanu kill a lot of people because of some gangsters killing his dog. I will say though, the action here is excellent and without quick cuts, you can actually see what's going on.

Keanu is very good here and is a better actor now that he was 20 or even 30 years ago. I know I'm supposed to turn off my brain for action movies like this but I couldn't help but notice several glaring plot holes. I'll say though that ultimately, for this kind of movie they really don't matter.

Final Thoughts:

Despite my misgivings, I was in the right frame of mind to enjoy this movie. So I give it 6 out of 10 but would recommend it to any action movie fan who is over 18. Please don't let your kids watch this, graphic violence, coarse language, and some sexual situations make it ages 18+. I'll certainly see parts 2 and 3 and probably even 4 if I'm caught up in time. Of and in Canada you can watch this on Netflix.
