Initial Thoughts:

John Cena is a funny guy, I think some people are just naturally that way, or maybe he’s just
had a lot of practice, or really gets into a role, either way it doesn’t matter, I’m at the point
where I’ll watch a movie just because he’s in it. That and I saw the first one, which I enjoyed, so
I knew what to expect. That’s not long winded way of saying when it comes to comedies Cena
makes it an easy choice.

Main Points:

As mentioned this movie is very formulaic/quite similar to the first movie. All of the actors are
funny, even Steve Buscemi has some moments. The trouble is that the movie is very predictable
and makes it a little dull at times as you know what’s coming. That said there were some funny
parts, Cena is a delight, all of the actors do a good job and the scenery is gorgeous.

I think it’s fine that, for the most part, you know what you’re getting with Cena in a comedy and
that’s certainly the case here. As much as I enjoy Buscemi I will have to say that unfortunately
he could be the weakest part of the movie, not his fault but this part of the story seemed very
tacked on.

Final Thoughts:

All of the negativity out of the way I did get some enjoyment from this film. It’s like I said to my
wife, just Cena being in it makes it better. It’s worth saying this is a rated R for a reason, drugs,
language, violence and a lot of drinking makes this ages 17+. I give this 6 out of 10 and would
only recommend it if you are a big Cena fan, or you want to get high and watch a comedy, it
works for that too. I could even watch a third one, though I hope they come up with a
better script for it.

  • "Charles O’Keefe’s descriptions immediately pulled me in and made the characters relatable. Starting with a strong hook—when Joseph realizes he’s finally met the woman of his dreams (Casandra)—the plot stays steadily exciting throughout.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants an exciting new read, and a great escape from reality."
